Talk Shaving; The Electric Revival

The Electric Revival Freaks menessentials2014 was an amazing year for The Electric Revival! After landing a distribution deal for their album Pirate Radio, showcasing at Canadian Music Week, and entertaining crowds with a very successful European tour and 3 Canadian tours, the band is ready to release their 3rd full length studio album, Freaks; the album will be made available internationally on iTunes February 1st 2015. We Sat down recently with Dallas from the band for a little shaving talk, here's how it went.

MenEssentials: So Dallas, tell us a bit about yourself

Dallas: Well, I'm the drummer in the Electric Revival. I enjoy cold beer and cheap whiskey, and I don't much care for raisins.

ME: What's your grooming routine like

Dallas: Shower, blow dry the hair for maximum awesomeness, Q-tip the ears, apply deodorant/cologne. Brush the teeth, and finally give the beard and stash a slight trim to get rid of the strays. And if I'm feeling real fancy, maybe some beard oil to finish it off.

ME: Dallas, What is your number one grooming tip or must have for the road?

Dallas: Don't over trim the beard! You want a thick luxurious beard that all the ladies will love? Don't over trim it, just let it do its thing. Also, even if you're rocking the full beard, shave your neck. No one likes a neck beard.

ME: What are your favorite beard or shaving product(s)

Dallas: The Boker carbon steel straight razor, in combination with Dr. Harris' Arlington shaving soap, In the mahogany bowl of course. Followed by Edwin Jagger's lime & pomegranate after shave lotion. That's a winning combination right there!

ME: Whats currently going on with The Electric Revival, and what's next for you guys

Dallas: Right now we're in the middle of a cross canada tour promoting out new album "Freaks." After that it's back to the studio to keep writing for the next album, as well as planning for a fall North American tour.
